About Our Lodges
Welcome to Dartmoor View Lodges at South Trew, situated in the beautiful Devon countryside, just a few hundred yards outside of the village of Highampton.
We are a small and private holiday ‘complex’ with only 3 unique lodges – where you are assured of a personal service as well as having a peaceful holiday or a short break.
Our lodges are south facing and have outstanding views across the Devon countryside towards Dartmoor.
Whilst we often have sheep and sometimes horses on our land, South Trew is no longer a working farm and therefore, is a very tranquil and relaxing place to be.

A little background
A little background information about Dartmoor View self-catering lodges at South Trew – the original farm was divided up in the 80′s, the property element being divided into three separate parts and all the land being sold off.
We are located at South Trew Stables on a site occupying about 11 acres and have direct access through our fields onto the Ruby Way from where guests can enjoy local walks.
South Trew Farm dates back to the 15th Century and is mentioned in the Domesday Book.
When the old farm was divided, the farmhouse was retained and is now a neighbouring property, the orchard was developed into holiday accommodation around a fishing lake and the stables became what is now our home. The timber lodges were built around 2006 in the paddock adjacent to our bungalow, where the views of Dartmoor are fantastic.
The lodges enjoy their own private access track which is immediately to the left as you enter the site.
We also store a few caravans for local owners which you will see as you drive in.
We took over the home and business in 2015 and immediately started improving and investing in the site and lodges including additional planting and re-fencing. All the interiors and exteriors of the lodges have been upgraded including the access track and parking areas.
